Identify the place in the photo at Belgaum?
Not such a good photo but still, it is good as you are not easily allowed to take photos there. Ram Mallaya had been trying to get this photo for over a month and he got this somehow.
Not a great click to his standards but, can you name the place?
Clue: see at the Yellow spot in the centre.

Chhagan Bhujbal was the gutsy fellow and had unfurled the saffron flag at Belgaum, where he had gone in disguise, while being the Mayor of Mumbai in 1985.
He had masqueraded as Sheikh Al Bhujbal to enter Belgaum and spent a month in jail later.

Belgaum district since 1836: Did you Know This

Belgaum was included in the Dharwad collectorate but a separate Belgaum collectorate was made in 1836. Ravenscroft took charge on May 3 as the new collector of Belgaum. In 1838, Belgaum was later made as a District head quarter.

In Basvan Galli there is a Jain temple, the idol was brought from killa (the Belgaum fort).
The Britisher's were not allowing the idol to be shifted from the fort and hence to get the Idol, the local jain's took the idol as it was a dead person on their shoulders and the Britisher's thought it was a dead body and left it and the whole thing was done at mid night. The temple was later built there.
