A large number of people had gathered along the route of the procession to witness the celebrations. In fact the turnout this time was quite large than earlier years and a notable factor this must be the Shivaji Serial going on TV.

All went off safely but there was a spat amongst the Police and the Organizers on the issue of putting up a controversial banner which was tied to a tractor, had given a call to Marathis to keep alive the issues pertaining to border and saffron flag, "which are pride of Marathis" which belonged to Bhandur Galli. The police asked the rally organizers to remove the banner and chaos prevailed for a while. Later SP Sonia Narang allowed the banner after removal of some parts of the script.

Congress MLA Feroz Sait, MLA Abhay Kumar Patil, MLA Sanjay Patil and Maharashtra Ekikaran Samithi leaders Deepak Dalvi and T.K. Patil were present.

Ramdev Galli and Maruti Galli were full of people even at 1.30 at night. Kids were enjoying the whole show and were shouting Jai Shivaji all the while.
