Abhishek S. Navale makes Belgaum proud skates Longest Backward Limbo Skating

Belgaum has recently been on the sports map for one good reason and that is skating and especially Limbo skating. Chindak, Konkane and now Abhishek Navale a seven year old created a record by longest backward limbo skating. Abhishek S. Navale is a seven-year-old studying in A.V.H. English Medium School, Belgaum. His Sanjay Navale, his father who works as a bus conductor with the North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation. Abhishek Navale (7) claimed a new record in “Longest Backward Limbo Skating Under Vehicles” when he glided under ten multi-utility vehicles in the presence of a large gathering on Darga Chowk premises in Sadalga town of Chikkodi taluk in Belgaum district. He claims to have made a record for “Longest Backward Limbo Skating Under Bars” as he successfully moved under bars providing a gliding space of only 8.7 inches and covering a distance of 62 feet, to a thundering applause from enthusiasts. He broke the record of 11-year-old Kaitlyn Conner of the U.S., who on July 28, 2008, created a world record by skating under 23 bars spread over 12 feet. He has skated 540 km from Bangalore to Belgaum in six days and has participated in several skating rallies aimed at spreading awareness on social issues ranging from AIDS to blood donation. He is now looking forward to see his name listed in the Limca Book of World Records, Guinness Book of World Records and Academy of World Records. Source: The Hindu
