What one could do is come and meet on a holiday monthly or bi-monthly and come closer to your home town. If you plan a get-together it could be highlighted on this blog so that more people from the area could join you.

This is just a thought; let me know more from you.

I have found the following people who have volunteered to collect and coordinate from their respective cities/countries.

8:09 AM Posted by ukmad

Software Technology Parks of India-Bangalore (STPI-Bangalore) is spearheading the mission to take IT to tier II cities.

The STPI-Bangalore, as part of its new initiatives, is planning incubation centres at Mysore, Shimoga and Belgaum besides enhancing its Hubli incubation centre space.

Each centres is expected to cost around Rs 8 crore to Rs 10 crore. Currently, sources said, STPI Hubli has also a point of presence (PoP) at Belgaum to service the datacom needs of IT/ITES industry in Belgaum city.

The idea of an incubation centre at Belgaum is to see it is proximity to Pune, it could attract potential entrepreneurs from there as well to provide for remote engineering as also IT-enabled services.

All the commercial establishments excluding banks and medical stores are closed in most parts of the city. Camp area shops were open but Main city; Shahpur & Tilakwadi majority shops were closed.

There were small incidents of stone pelting in Bhatkande Galli, Khade Bazar and some incidents of tyre burning. About four shops were gutted on PB road but the police said it was due to short circuit and nothing to do with the bandh. Glasses of a few busses were broken by unidentified people today as well as yesterday night. In all 14 buses were damaged.

The five-minute rush at the railway gate

8:58 AM Posted by ukmad

Contributed by Hitesh Dharmadasani

People do not like to wait; all they want is instant. Take for example the situation when the railway gate is closed for a train to pass, even after the gate is closed you can see people trying to make way under the gate with their two wheelers. Why cant they wait for 5 minutes, after all the gate is closed for their safety.

The scene is similar on all railway gates. We need to think on this and ask ourselves are we waiting for something bad to happen and is it that only then we will realize this.
