Take this as a New Year gift from HESCOM; tomorrow Sunday 3 Jan 2009 will be black out day as there will be no electricity from 9 am to 4 pm for maintenance work.

New Year welcomed by drinking liquor to tune of one crore

New Year has become a festival where people forget all bad deeds and differences, drink, and welcome the New Year in a good mood.
On 31 December 2009 Rs.72 lakhs worth Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL) and 42 lakhs worth of beer was sold in a single day.
The MSIL store alone sold whopping liquor worth Rs.2.85 lakhs in a single day.
The entire bar and restaurants in the city were full to capacity and so were all the events on the occasion.
