Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board announced that only 2% students have passed in the Marathi D Ed. Exams this year. The passing percentage of other languages like Kannada is 98% & English is almost 70%.

In some colleges all students have failed, there is a law which states that if there are all failures for 3 years the college will be closed.

On Tuesday, a large number of students, teachers, evaluators and management members of D.Ed. colleges marched to the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and staged a demonstration shouting slogans against the KSEEB for being prejudiced against Marathi medium students.

Demands made were: all answer scripts be re-evaluated by teachers from only Karnataka, photocopies of answer scripts be provided to students, and results of re-evaluation be declared in 15 days.
