What are those numbers of ? In Tarun Bharat these numbers appear every day on the last page or last but one. But there is nothing mentioned about those numbers as what are they off.
These numbers pertain to Matka, a form of illegal lottery that has been strangling poor people for last several decades. The numbers appear in pairs of sets, called open and close. Each set of numbers has four digits, the fourth digit is the units digit of the sum of the first three (For example 4-5-9 add up to 18, its unit digit is 8, so the numbers are 4-5-9-8.
A kingpin in Mumbai or Kalyan draws three numbers randomly one from an earthen pot (hence the name Matka). I am surprised these numbers appear in Tarun Bharat, which I thought was a newspaper with good ethical standards. But apparently not; money has corrupted them.
I agree with both of the above comments And i have experiance as my sub workers use to play it for the last 40 years or so. But sad thing they didn`t won a large SUM Whatever they use to get will be lost in the same game for the coming days. Some of them are already dead & some of them still pursuing it. Whenever i come to BGM. i tell them not to play, but they are addicted to it, Only they can help themself?
