Business is in the blood:
After passing the valued Redhat Certification exam in 2006, he tried setting up a business of his own dealing with Wireless and Wired Networking for local SME's and institutions. But then he was green with very little experience of the outside world. He failed sustaining it as the demand for services was meager.
He then took a few odd jobs in Bangalore and started working as a Freelancer along with a job in the day. The Freelancing helped him technically and got loads of contacts. Hotel VITS Belgaum no more

The much hyped about hotel the VITS of Vithal Kamat group has said good bye to Belgaum. It was opened about 18 months earlier.
Now it will be known as “EEFA”. The said hotel is now being managed by the owner of the land.

A regular retail super Shoppe but the name is a bit unknown. Its website http://smartretail.co.in/ does not open at this time, so I could not get the details of the company and its operations.
To begin with, the arrangement from LEFT to right, vegetables on the left then fruits, cold beverages, ready to eats, groceries, soaps and one complete section on the right of the entrance where there is cutlery and storage jars.
Vegetables were in huge quantities and almost all had 2 varieties one looked very fresh and one a bit stale and both were priced also in that manner, the fresher the costlier. Some vegetables like Gourd, Capsicum was very fresh.
Now to the pricing: Vegetable pricing was high; if you, compare it to local Main market (Ganpat Galli and beyond) the prices of vegetables are costly. Onions were Rs.16.90/Kg in the market it was Rs.14/kg. It was with beans Smart price was Rs.35/Kg market it was Rs.20/Kg. Sugar was Rs.20/Kg and in market, it was Rs.19/Kg.
The over arrangement and ambience was ok, AC was off and was a bit hot. Staff was trained but did not find the zeal with their work. There are in total 3 cash counters 2 in the centre at the entrance and one at the left corner.
One notable thing which I had made earlier also, Purohit Sweets and Savories have found a place for themselves in almost all these super markets, may it be Big Bazaar or Reliance fresh.
On a scale of 10, I would rate it 6.5, ok average buying experience. I did buy a few things and my bill said I saved Rs.6.25 so you know how much you saved if you bought somewhere else, all these items were MRP based. If you are near to it, then it is the nearest best option.
Recession hits Udayambag

A large number of industries have decided to cut down the number of employees by at least 50 per cent of their staff and send some of them on long leave till the situation improved.
Units here mainly cater to orders from automobile sector from Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore. But since March 2008, there has been a steady decline in the orders and November was worst with very few orders. Only fabrication and casting works were on and that too to meet the requirements of the Belgaum City. With irregular supply of power it's impossible to even complete this small quantity.

Vayavya Labs offers tools, which target the semiconductor, & design services firms. The flagship product DDGen (US patent pending) attempts to de-mystify the device driver development for embedded platforms.
Belgaum Foundry industry in bad shape

Belgaum is recognized to be a reliable source of high precision, high volume and
economical castings. A significant percentage (almost 20%) of the foundry units at Belgaum has ISO 9000 certification and export casting.
The foundry industry at Belgaum caters to a wide variety of end-use applications Automotive/oil engines Pumps/valves Tractors/agricultural implements Food processing industry. The foundry industry at Belgaum came up primarily to cater to the needs of the automobile industry at Pune.
The Belgaum foundry industry is the first in Karnataka and the third largest in Asia. The production has decreased by 30% in last month. 8000 tonnes production has now come down to 6000 tonnes.
There are about 135 foundries in the industrial belt. More than 9000 workers work in them. The foundry industry has been seeing a tough time; the raw material prices have gone up by a whopping 200%. The demand has slowed down due to the meltdown, inflation has hit them hard, and now the industrialists say they at least need more than a year to come back on track.
To top the pie of hardships for these industrialists, now HESCOM is undertaking power cuts, which is causing much more production loss and cost escalation.
To the 9000+ workers, an additional 4000+ are involved in this industry in form of transporters, porters etc. All are feared what will happen to them if the same situation continues.
In the recent month, the prices of raw materials have seen a downtrend globally, which is one ray of light in this darkness. Globally metal and Commodity driven stocks are taking a beating, it is the case with them in India also.
