Allaboutbelgaum.com is now on Leading Minds servers

11:22 AM Posted by ukmad

Now many of you will have a question why this new name and the new host, with time this site has grown and with traffic increasing day after day the earlier server was slow and also unstable, hence this new idea of AllAboutBelgaum.com.

This site will remain the same as Belgaumblog.com which gives you latest news from Belgaum and is now the only site for Belgaum which is updated on a daily basis.
By partnering with Leading Minds, a Belgaum based web Development Company, I feel great to be associated with another Belgaumite who has come forward to help me out in my venture. I could have approached any one on this earth and may be having got a better deal but I settled down for a fellow Belgaumite and who the best in terms of project execution is.

Your site is now hosted on our premium servers in the US based on Grid Server Technology. Grid Server technology is a cluster-based, modern hosting service powered by hundreds of servers working in tandem to power websites, applications and email with unrivaled power, burst ability and reliability.

The Leading minds team migrated to the new domain in less than 12 hours and my site were running. I would like to thank all the team members at Leading Minds for their support.

I also would take this occasion to thank all my readers for their over whelming response.

Then what happens to the Belgaumblog.com, well keep watching this blog for it will be fine tuned in some months to give all Belgaumites another new platform for them to express their selves.
Till then Belgaum’s here @ AllAboutBelgaum.com where are you?

To get all the details of the entire Belgaum Legislative Assembly session 2009, visit http://belgaum.nic.in/session-09.html

All is in Kannada and in Flash mode.
The site will be updated daily and you can get a host of information from the site. I will also be following the same here. Even photographs and detailed materials as to what happened in the day will be posted on the same place I guess.

Have your own blog and a custom domain & all that for FREE with Hyperwebenable

10:23 AM Posted by ukmad

Getting a free blog with a sub-domain is not hard to find but every user with a free blogging service has some limitations to the features. Sites like blogger.com and wordpress.com which provide free blog domain and free hosting for that, but you are limited to a sub domain, but Hyperwebenable allows you to select your choice of domain and not just the sub domains. Confusing! Let me make it simple.

Whenever you sign up with blogger or wordpress you get a sub domain i.e. belgaumblog.wordpress.com or belgaumblog.blogspot.com as I started and then it went on to become belgaumblog.com.

In addition to your bolg, Hyperwebenable provides you with various addon scripts like forums, CMS, image hosting or any scripts of your choice and lot and lots more. You don’t have know anything about it, they will all set it up and make it running, but yes you will need to write on the blog, they won’t do that for you.
And why would anyone in this world do all this for free? No they would place some ads on the blog that’s it and those ads will also be related to your blog site and posts. If your site generates more than 100 page views per day, then there are only 2 banners ads displayed in a web page. If your website gets less than 100 page views a day, 4 banner ads would be displayed in your web page.
And you can also earn from your blog by placing ads from different ad networks like Adsense etc.
To me this service has given me a platform to make a start and show the world about Belgaum. So guys get going.. Check the free website and blog service at http://www.hyperwebenable.com/

BUDA website launched

1:14 PM Posted by ukmad

The Belgaum Urban Development Authority has just launched its website, http://belgaumuda.org/.

The site is simple and not much data is there. Some n going projects have been mentioned and the upcoming projects have a mention.

However, the site lacks interaction, (its true why does a govt. Dept site be interactive) but I guess it should have been more users friendly & interactive.

In the contact us the list of phone numbers are there but the email part is empty, which I think should have been there, Infact there is no email contact at all; you can only telephonically or in reality get in touch.

Many such sites are made and forgotten, I just wish websites of govt departments area necessity and they should be there and updated regularly. Many sites that are made by spending so much money are never updated once they are launched.

A BIG THANK YOU: Belgaumblog.com

5:22 PM Posted by ukmad

To all my readers "A BIG THANK YOU" for supporting me all over this previous year.

This blog started its journey on August 7, 2007 as http://belgaumblog.blogspot.com and now it is http://belgaumblog.com. It has been a learning experience for me trying to collect information from various sources and putting it in on the blog. More than 26500+ visitors and 135+ RSS feed readers in one year for a city specific blog with a niche readership, I guess are very good.

On many occasions I have tried and covered events almost live and have given updates as they happened. It will be by endeavor to improve on it.

Some of you respond and leave comments, some of only read and some of you mailed me telling where I was going wrong and what I should be doing. I just hope I have made it to your expectations if not 100% at least near it.

I will keep trying my best to provide you information about our city Belgaum.
